Founded in 1883 by Alfred, Frederick, Henry and Robert Johnson - grandsons of a master potter Alfred Meakin - The Johnson Brothers first began production in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. Specializing initially in durable earthenware, they soon began to branch out in dinnerware production, of which the company is most famous for today.

Throughout the years, the Johnson Brothers dinnerware series has been recognized and celebrated for it's innovative, simple but elegant, lightweight and affordable dinnerware in durable earthenware. Johnson Brothers is now being produced in China.
