The votives of Anna Ehrner’s Blue Moon and Cool Moon series are inspired by the ‘parison’, the lump of hot glass on the end of the glassblower’s pipe. (The parison, says Anna, is the heart and soul of all blown glass.) Blue Moon, the dark phase, Cool Moon the full phase of the moon, are in Anna’s words, “crystal globular lanterns with poetic layers of color floating in them: Blue Moon shimmers with shades of blue, Cool Moon with Smoky white.” Each crystal Moon is one of a kind.
